The Flixbus bus was coming from Paris and we got the last two seats at the back of the bus. We did sit together but it was so hot. Don’t think the air conditioning was working. Three hours later we were in St Malo and our wonderful host, Annick picked us as we got off the bus. What a treat. Our room is in a least a 400 year old home. We are sharing the house with a grandmother, a son and three children. Cozy but very nice.
Norm checking out the massive ceiling wooden support. Yellow Bunny resting by the thick walls and tiny window. The house is very cool temperature wise.
Off we went to explore the town. Our accommodation is right near the water and in a residential neighbourhood.
We are right near this church. Walking to the old walled city we were amazed at the beaches and some people actually swimming. It is a holiday break for schools right now.
We headed to the old walled city that was packed with many many people. Still great to see. Built in the 1600 to protect the city.
This a view from a distance where were today.
Ramparts again
Sampling a street creperie.
Views looking down to the water.
We even saw Roman ruins along the way.
Back home to shower and headed off to find a meal! On the way we discovered a war memorial left much the way it was in 1945. Very peaceful and no people.
Notice Mother Mary watching from above.
Dinner was apple cider, mushroom and cheese crepe for me, sausage crepe for Norm and we shared an apple crepe for dessert. Best ever!

ReplyDeleteBrings back memories what a beautiful day for St. Malo...loving your blog, can hardly believe tomorrow you'll be in Guernsey! It'll be fun to see if you bump into anyone who knows us. Wish I was there...
ReplyDeleteWhy do your blogs make me hungry? Even though I just ate a perfectly good grilled cheese sandwich.
