Prachov to Jičin

The last day of our 5 day stay in Czechia. Today’s hike is shorter but still full of amazing sites. The hotel.. less exciting but we had a bed to sleep in. Unfortunately the fan in the bathroom was so loud we hated going in there. Breakfast was … ok but you could as much as you liked.The hotel was full of Czechians probably going hiking and biking in the woods, lots of them.

Again no one on the trails

Our first stop was to pay to go into a park, Prachovské Skály, referred to as a rock town. We have a choice of the Narrow Route or the Wider Route. We picked the Wider one. Amazing sandstones 

And of course stairs….

So many incredible structures. 
So up we climbed

Some look like creatures or human figures.

So now we are at the top of the stairs but cannot find our red flash for the Wider Route down. The yellow flash looks possible. Little did we realize that this was for Narrow one! It was so narrow that both my elbows were scratched! 

What an adventure!

Once out of the park we continued through the woods and across the valleys to reach Jicin. Often you find statues or memorials along the way. 

One thing I noticed on our walks are dandelions everywhere. Some are really beautiful. 

At first I thought this was a field of yellow canola.. no it is dandelions! 

We are at our final hotel, Hotel Restart. This is a classy place. Last night’s room could fit into this room 3 times. 

Off to see Jicin, here since the 14th century. The town square’s clock tower
