Birthday in Koog aan de Zaan

We slowed down a bit today. We actually had to go out and buy breakfast, the first time in our holiday. But Bagels and Beans did a pretty good job. 

We can have breakfast at our hotel for 16€ each. We passed.

This is the Zaan Hotel, very nice, modern and looks Dutch. Also conveniently close to the train station.

Off to Amsterdam to do a bit of shopping….four more books for the flight home?? 

Now to Koog aan de Zaan to see Duncan and family. We have almost mastered the train system and can “read” Dutch! 

Time to head out for Duncan’s birthday dinner. Note the weather 🌧

Odessa likes umbrellas, or plume, as she uses part of the French wood. So sweet! Unfortunately the restaurant was closed and we returned home to order pizza. But even pizza can work for singing happy birthday. 

Back to our hotel to warm up after the train ride. Yellow Bunny took the day off. 🐰
