Breakfast done, packed lunch received and perfect weather we set out through the woods and…
Up stairs and over roots
To see Trosky Towers!
This was our first glimpse of the towers. Now to get there.
Trosky not to be confused with Trotsky consists of two towers.
These are the remnants of a 14th century castle built on a steep basalt volcanic rock massif which is divided into two towers. The higher one is called The Maiden and lower is The Old Woman. This how it would have looked in the past.
Up we climbed about a km to get to the entrance. First up the spiral staircase
The view looking at The Maiden
And the view looking down is beautiful.
Quite the experience
Time for lunch and as we sat on a bench this is the view we could see!
Perfect and there was no one around to enjoy it with us!
Next stop Mladêjov where we were due for a rest and and a beer or Pepsi.
This town again had coffee cups on their fence posts. Norm thinks maybe it could catch on in Victoria??
All along the trails we see sandstones, some massive others more artistic. Yellow Bunny and the red flashes help us to not get lost.
Finally we are at our “home”, Parkhotel Skalni Mesto.
Dinner tonight was Chicken with leeks and mushrooms and Norm had Pork medallions with mushrooms.
Tomorrow is our last walk in the Bohemian Paradise.
What great weather! and amazing views!
