Pancakes for Norman with bananas -- and Canadian maple syrup -- which he ate!
Rebecca had a Benny Bowl with avocados
I I had two poached eggs with avocado and hearty home made bread. Excellent!
It seems like we eat a lot but his was our only meal out today. Notice the pomegranate mixed with the avocado.
Now to walk off the brunch, we headed for Vondel Park. It is a chance for locals and tourists to get out and enjoy the sunshine and green spaces.
Watching all the people coming and going is fun. There are old and young ones on bikes, runners, roller bladers, and even a women in a wheelchair fitted into a bicycle. Often two or three are on one bike.
Even the occasionally well dressed person.
Or two
Next we toured the Museum Willet-Holthuysen
In 1895 Louisa Willet-Holthuysen bequeathed her residence, its entire contents and the art collection of her late husband Abraham Willet to the city of Amsterdam. We walked through the three floors admiring the furniture, art work and collections, where the servants lived and the garden. Unfortunately some of the original furniture owned by the Willets has not survived but similar period items\have been found to replace them.
The garden today. There used to be a carriage house and stables until the 20th century, when they burnt down.
Must be time for coffee. Norman found a Starbucks near Rembrandt Square. This is what a Dutch Starbucks looks like.
Norman had to take a photo of people taking photos. Everyone wants a picture of Rembrandt and the Night Watch figures.
Traveling on the trams is a great way to get around the city. We are always surprised that no one gets hit. There are motorcycles, bicycles, cars, walkers, buses, trams and everyone has a place to be.....
Here's looking out the tram we are on to see what is behind us.
Home to our cottage to relax.
Mailing those postcards with Yellow Bunny's help.
