No wifi on the train so watch for blogs when we hit cities along the way.
Traveling by train is kind of like camping without the bugs but meeting new friends and eating good food. We left Vancouver at 3pm and it took 2 hours just to get out off town. Here we go....
We found our accommodations (sleepers) and wondered how we would ever sleep. That’s Norm holding up our personal towels.
We settled in and checked out the train, all 21 cars with 2 engines. Most of the travellers are going to Jasper but we managed to get a chance to use the dome car.
With rainy weather the viewing isn’t too exciting but we followed the Fraser right to Mission (my home town) where there was an unplanned stop to remove 4 rowdy passengers. Considering almost everyone on this train is a senior, these four were definitely a younger group. Too bad, we’ll miss their fun.
Our dining car, looking very classy.
Dinner was delicious. Beef tenderloin for me and chicken breast for Norman. New friends from Melbourne, Australia, Tony and Heather. Great conversation and we compared our travels. Who knew they had been to Guernsey!
Yellow Bunny is enjoying her holiday too. We find a spot to sit and read while our bedroom is “set up”.
Norm has the lower and I’m on the upper. We share 2 washrooms with 6 people and a shower with more.
This is the upper berth., cozy and comfortable. It feels like you’ve crawled into a tent. The sleep was pretty good, rocking you to sleep, sort of. The noise of train travel is something you get used of and I couldn’t hear Norm snore at all!
Rock on, Sis! Yay,Mission!
