Off to the Big Island

It’s been awhile since we’ve had a holiday. The past year has had a few interruptions. But since my oncologist says I’m in remission, we are now in Kona on the big island of Hawaii.
Norm has had a few setbacks this week with some skin surgery that is taking awhile to heal. But we are ready for sun, Kona coffee, beaches, volcanoes and snorkeling.

We are leaving the ferry looking pretty 😊 good. Next the airport where we will meet up with Sue and Ken to share the trip.
Yellow Bunny is excited too. Airport time can be very relaxing.

We discovered that westjet and McDonalds are working together. Who knew…

We arrived at 8:00pm Hawaiian time. Our two bedroom condo is ok. They forgot to put a window in our bedroom but we each get our own bathroom and fans to moderate the 27 degrees and humidity. Tomorrow we’ll check out our pool and Kona. Probably coffee first on the agenda.

  2. Never been to the big island but understand Kona is highly walkable. No surprise if you have aim to snorkel with manta rays Mary but you both likely would enjoy Hulihe'e Palace museum for a lesson in Hawaiian history and art

  3. I hope Volcanoes National Park is not erupting. It's a very interesting walk around the craters. I believe the craters are no longer used for human sacrifices. Just be careful if some of the natives are forgetful.
