At the Flower Market you will find more tulip bulbs then you could image, plus peonies, amaryllis, calla lilies and more!
And around town
And lots of canals with bridges, some old style ones.
We had lunch at the Droog with son Duncan.
It was really good. Yellow Bunny liked the salad.
Then off we went walking ( over 15,000 steps today).
The Mint tower built in the 15th century was used at one time to make coins.
With all that walking we needed refreshments. Apple cake was the answer!
We saw tourists lined up for freshly made Stroopwaffles. You could see them being made through this window (since 1898).
Heading home we went shopping at the famous De Bijenkorf (means the beehive). Norm’s mother worked there back in 1930’s. It is really high end these days but I bought a facecloth for “only” 8€. Worth every euro. And on sale for 50 % off!
Our translation of the display title: the first department store in the Netherlands. The Bijenkorf in Lego!
You can see Lego in the close up.
The town in coming alive for tomorrow’s Kings Day celebrations. Everywhere you can see orange balloons, clothing, bunting …. Stay tuned
